ice cream + ham

A few weeks ago I went with my good friends and their two kids to get ice cream.
It must have been the sugar, because these normally quiet
children turned in to little hams as soon as I pulled out the camera.
Making fun of his lawyer papa for taking an important call. Hilarious.
How cute are her little pink streaks?
See? Hams, I tell you.

birthday fun

Last week I traveled to Los Angeles for work, and I just
happened to have a birthday while I was in town. My
beautiful cousin Monique (yes, we are très French in this family)
took me out for an awesome beachy adventure.
 We rode the roller coaster...
frolicked in the sun...
(can you tell she's the actress in the family?)
 got a sandy pedicure...
failed at taking self portraits with my camera...
met Lola's new boyfriend...
 and explored the pier.
After the beach, she treated me to
peach margaritas, followed by dancing until the wee hours.
How sweet is that?!

how to make your house smell like a home

Here's something fun to try this weekend.
Grab a few lemons, a few handfuls of rosemary and
some cinnamon sticks (or ground cinnamon.)

Cut lemons in to quarters.
Add to a large pot of boiling water.
Grab yourself some rosemary.

Add to the water + lemons.
Throw in a cinnamon stick or two, or if you're like me and you ran out,
just sprinkle in a few teaspoons of ground cinnamon.

There are countless occasions on which this recipe comes in handy.
When friends or family are coming over, after returning home from travelling
and the house smells stale, after moving in to a new house, just throw
a few things together and within minutes, it smells like a home again.
This even works with apples, oranges, basil, cloves, vanilla, etc.
Just use your imagination.

Combine everything in a pot of boiling water, then reduce the heat as much
as possible and let it simmer for a few hours. Once in a while I add a few cups
of water so it doesn't dry out. Let me know if you try this or if you have any
combinations of your own!

new sunnies

{Photos by Jason Mackey}

My friend Jason and I headed outdoors to take photos again last week.
I took the opportunity to "model" my new Ray-Ban Cats that
ShadesDaddy.com graciously sent me. The word model must be in
quotes because I had no idea how to pose, look normal, or
avoid flashing my crooked grin. Regardless, I truly love these
Ray-BansI like super large sunglasses and
I always joke that my idea pair would cover the entire circumference
of my face. These are perfect for me, since they're over-sized and have that
classic, retro feel to them. But personally, I think Lola rocked them the best.
What do you think? What are your favorite sunglasses this year?

coachella style

If you follow me on Instagram and/or Twitter, you might have
picked up on the fact that my sweet husband works in the coffee industry.
He has the most amazing group of people working for him and I simply adore
each and every one of them. And since they're all super cool kids, I'm constantly
inspired by their epic style.

Jessica (above) has only been working with MOZ (my guy)
for a few months but I liked her the second I met her. She's incredibly sincere,
funny, and smart but the first thing I noticed was her impeccable style.
I was thrilled to see that she was featured on a Quebec fashion blog
while she hung out at Coachella this year. Don't you love her kit?
Jessica, if that skirt ever goes missing, you may just find it in my closet!

Ulyana Sergeenko Spring & Summer 2012

For spring/summer I'm ready & excited for coiffed hair, kitty cat eyes & ladylike dresses.
This season no one seemed to capture the look quite like Ulyana Sergeenko.
I've been girl-crushing on her street style for a while now, but I'm even more
mesmerized by both her lookbook & dreamy behind the scenes
glances at the demure models. The feminine silhouettes,
sweet fabrics & vintage details of the collection emulate
Ulyana herself with timeless yet sexy elegance. I propose we all
play dress-up in Ulyana's collection & have fancy tea party pronto.
Who's in?

adults + backpacks

What are your thoughts on adults wearing backpacks?
A girlfriend recently scoffed* at mine (above, a gift from the mister) and
said backpacks should be exclusively worn by students/children.
I still love the convenience of a pack, especially for bike riding,
and they're still cute in my mind. What do you think?

*Scoffed with love, of course.

Hi everyone! I'm so glad to finally be caught up and able to get back to
blogging! I feel so lucky that I can travel to pretty fun places for work,
but the lack of free time is challenging! I have a ton of photos
to share this week, so be sure to check back soon.
For now, here are a few photos from instagram.
